hello hello. finally back in singapore after a 2hr delay in my flight. the trip to china was pretty enjoyable but b4 i get to that, i shall talk abt some disgusting pple i met along my trip. Incident 1: this stupid china woman in the plane had to push her chair back soooo much that she might as well just rest on my thigh. i cldnt even cross my legs. but i did tell her to push it up more so that was not a prob. at least she was not that inconsiderate unlike the one my mum's fren met. this is not the pt. SHE ACTUALLY SWITCHED ON THE PHONE IN THE PLANE. n that was a few mins b4 the plane was abt to descend. is like hello??? it was made very clear that no one shld switch on the phone in the plane at all times? so when the air stewardess told her to switch it off, she said "wo3 zhi3 yao4 kan4 shi2 jian1" n i was like thinking...hello? u have a watch u noe? n if u can talk so much, u can always ask someone wad the time was. i wld be glad to tell u if u asked me. inconsiderate twit. Incident 2: while i was waiting for the luggages, i went to pull 3 trollies(if its the right spellin) out. n this singaporean couple had the nerve to take MY TROLLEY away. so i had to pull another one out cos that stupid man had to take one of my trollies away. like excuse me? i dun look like a servant to u right? who the hell are u that i have to pull out trollies for a MAN? besides he did see me struggling to pull out all 3 at the same time(cos it was stuck). it cant be that im so free n energetic to pull out 3 for no reason right? stewpid. so i really gave him the disgusted look n said "oh my god yucks" directly to that couple. BUT they din seem to get it. then the WOMAN wanted to take another trolley away when i pulled out one more. n this time i stopped her n said "excuse me, i need ALL THREE TROLLIES." so when my mum's fren came n asked me why i was taking so long(she thought something happened) i said really loudly(the backbone-less couple was behind me) "some pple have no back bone n are really inconsiderate n disgusting. they cant even take trollies by themselves! like how embarrassing" i mean seriously, i dun really have to give the two of u face u noe. yucks ok i shall stop ranting abt such pple. these 2 happened ytd but other than that, i cant really remember cos i enjoyed myself pretty much :) so back to china. it was great. the pple there treated us really well. they hired drivers for us so our transport was of no prob. thats the good thing abt goin to places where u have contacts. n we even managed to go to places that was not open to the public. we really had vip treatment. the hotels were all 5 star so it was comfortable. the service was good. the food was gd. except for some..though its expensive, is something that im not used to eating. n i think i haven spoken so much chinese in these 2 years. DAY 1 3/12---Xiamen -checked into Bao3 Long2 Hotel. the rooms were relatively bigger than singapore's. n comfortable. -went to hu2 wei3 shan1 to see xiamen's view. too bad it was foggy. but the air was so fresh n the place was so clean! i like xiamen more than shanghai. thats for sure. -went to my relative's house(who is my cousin n he was the one who brought us ard china this time) n the view was so nice. so relaxing! -walked along bai2 lu4 zhou1 gong1 yuan2 to this new restaurant which was HUGE. n the room we were in was so grand. we had our own toilet, own coffee/tea table-like thing n the dining table. the delicacies we ate...well some im really not used to it. like those organs? omg. but i knew it was ex cos they did ask us to try cos its vv "zhen1 gui4" so i just had to eat it. no pics on food cos i thought it was qt inappropriate to take pics infront of so many pple. -met all my relatives in xiamen. most of them for the first time. goodness. the kids(who actually have to call me gu1 gu1) were all so damn smart. one of them actually was the 2nd in the whole of china for maths olympiad n was from qinghua. -_- n one was from the top engineering school n the other (final year in high school. like jc2) is goin to dunno which top uni(they approached her to go there la!) i feel so small as compared to them yet motivated. n all my cousins n cousin in laws are all doin so well! either officials or in some banks.   the view from my cousin's house.
this whole bulding is the restaurant Day 2 4/12---Xiamen -went to gu3 lang4 yu3, this island near xiamen. there is this maze thing there which we really got lost! it was qt interesting. n those pple who designed it was really smart. -visited hu2 li3 shan1 pao4 tai2. the largest cannon in the world. its during the qing dynasty i think? impressive. - had hakka food for lunch. man it was so packed. -_- but i finally tasted wad hakka food is really like. -flew to mt wuyi. checked into Yeohwa Hotel. i feel that this hotel is the best in all ive stayed. the service was top notch. the room was cosy. the lobby was so grand. i thought this hotel was more grand than ritz even though its onli 5 star. no wonder even lky stayed here b4. n so did other big shots.   part of the maze  my cousin n cousin in law. they were really nice.   Day 3 -5/12 Mt Wu Yi - i climbed 888 steps to get to the peak la! goodness. - sat on those "boats" made of bamboo. the scenery in mt wu yi was splendid. a different experience from europe i wld say. -dinner at some place with some big shots. it was built with mainly bamboos. n its those kind of jungle kind of food? i ate the "5 step" snake (directly translated from chinese. i dunno wads in eng) is the snake where the poison wld take effect once u finish walking 5 steps. poisonous. n apparently that bowl of snake soup was like SGD200. n there was like the gall bladder n all those kinda thing. omg. i almost died when i saw it. n there were other rare stuff that i just had to eat it cos when i heard the price, i just had to swallow it. but seriously, it din really taste all that bad cos ultimately that restaurant was perhaps the best in that mountain. i guess it was all psychological. so slowly, i got used to such delicacies. lets just say, that place had a different style altogether. n i dun think there are restaurants in singapore that serves such food. -oh one thing abt china pple, they love to drink. so those china pple just kept making my dadd drink n my dad got close-to-drunk by the time he reached the hotel -_____________- we even had to send him to the hospital which was an eye opener. the service given by the hotel was so damn good. .JPG) the corridor of the restaurant  while waiting for the official 
its all worth it. in fact, the scenery was so much better when u are climbing as compared to the peak itself.  
  yu4 nu3 feng1 Day 4 6/12---Fuzhou -checked into shangrila -i din take many pics in fuzhou cos i accompanied my sis to the chi physician. so i din join the rest for the hot spring. i saw some pics from my mum's fren's son's camera. so damn nice la :( -had a fantastic lunch at shangrila with some of dad's friends. my dad din exactly go with us to many places as his leg was still hurting n he has alr been to these places several times. so all he did was to meet up with friends. n finally, the good food was those that are the types served in singapore. like abalone, sharks fin, pork's neck(at first i was like "oh no" but it was so damn good) vv large sea cucumber, birds nest. n i cant remmeber the rest. -met up with anothr cousin of mine(much older as well) who is holding some high post in some bank in china. she is so fun! brought us ard n was so lively. enjoyed her company thoroughly. n she finds us eating too slowly. when my sis n i were alr tryin our best to gobble up the food. yikes -dinner at shangrila with her husband(a high ranking official in fuzhou) n dad's frens. tried buddha jump over the wall n other types of yummy food.    Day 5 7/12--Fuzhou -went to gu3 shan1. it is so rich in history. vv interesting. the guide who brought us ard onli entertained officials. so we were really honoured n lucky to have her as our guide. many thanks to the china pple there who arranged for us. she thought we were from the embassy. haha but some of the pple there were qt irritating, following us all the way. they ought to just hire their own guide la. even wanted to go into the place where it was not opened to public. but they were stopped. n the worst part is they talk so loudly -headed to shanghai at night -went to some pubs. made some new friends. :)  this tree is like 1100 years old n is one of the treasures of this temple. it is not open to the public n is just right outside the place where the chief monk stays  where the chief monk stays(i think?) this place is where impt guests are entertained. so thanks to the chinese, we managed to visit here. n they even allowed us to take a picture on these seats! 
Day 6 8/12---Shang Hai -checked into renaissance hotel. lets just say, its the most expensive n yet the lousiest amg those we've stayed in. its smaller and service was not as good. -din really enjoy shanghai as much. it was just another typical city.
-tea appreciation! haha of cos i din really noe wad was really going on. but my mum liked it. -cheng2 huang2 miao4--> its not a temple. like many streets to eat n walk ard. something like china town i wld say. n the xiao long bao was so good. but the queue was so long. if u think the donuts queue in singapore is bad, u ought to look at the queue for that particular xiao long bao restaurant. thank god the guide volunteered to queue for us. so sweet of her. tried the famous tang yuan there too. yummyy.    Day 7 9/12--Tong2 li3 zhen4 n Suzhou -tui4 yuan2 si4 was an official's house n it was so exquisite. the buildings in tong li zhen is like 2500 years old! impressive. -in suzhou, we visited hu3 qiu1 to see the pagoda that was slightly slanted. once again, pple just had to follow n they even had the cheek to stand infront of us. geez. im kinda lazy to put up more photos of this place alr. so check the internet if u guys are interested!  there is actually a hand print on the stone. it meant wealth 
.JPG)  Day 8 10/12--shanghai - qi bu lu. omg it was so crowded. within 15 min, my mum felt giddy n wanted to go off. -went to some retail factories with my sis. connectioins are really impt in china i wld say. - lunch at this house that was turned into a restaurant. it appeared in tatler b4. its built in the 1930s and the owner of this house was chen xiang mei. i was so amazed when they said they did not renovate the place n the walls n floor are nv refurnished. the food was good. shanghainese style. yumyum. oh n there was this bicycle displayed that was given to soong mei ling(correct right?) by chiang kai shek! another place rich in history. vv vv interesting. totally enjoyed it. - dinner at this restaurant at zheng4 da4 guang2 chang3. my cousin's fren purposely booked this room where we cld see the night view. splendid. food was good too!n again i ate snake. just that it was another type of snake n it was fried. so it was much more edible. so for shanghai, it was more of eating. the shopping was so disappointing. mainly cos it was winter in the first place. n its too crowded. in general, i do find this trip abit too social but i did learn many things. n i wld not have gone to many restaurants n met different types of pple if we went thru the agency. so all in all, i did enjoy myself. so thats all folks! |
